A tropical holiday destination

Welcome Aboard

Welcome Aboard

My maiden pleasure trip to Bali with family right after Eid holidays that evokes thoughts of a paradise. It's more than a holiday destination; it's a mood, an aspiration, a tropical state of mind. This is a memorable photographing trip and my travel partners were - my wife and our only son.

My travel agent, SANJAR HOLIDAYS, handled the air booking, hotel accommodation and booked a 3-night stay in Benoa, Bali and customized tour to Tanjung Benoa, Uluwatu, dinner at Jimbaran sea beach and daylong tour to Kintamani volcano from Dhaka in efficient manner. The service we received in Bali, from the very beginning till end of our journey, it basically beyond my expectation. Every place we visited and activity we did were worthwhile since this is Bali after all. Interestingly, every night I noticed one thing that indigenous local bird chirped at mid night. It was really unique and peaceful. Almost heavenly, I would say.

We paid USD 2000 in all for the air fare, 3N stay, 3 breakfast, above mentioned tour and Jimbaran seafood dinner which I thought was a very good deal. Then shopping cost and other food bill depends on your personal choice. On an average, we ended up with each person came up to USD 850 for 4D/3N trip. The hotel was 3 star accommodation and we had our chartered car with us for 3 days.

Except for transit (4 +4 = 8 hours both way) in KL, flying hours seemed okay because I watched 4 movies during my 12 hours flight (6 hours each way).

Day 1: 10 July – Welcome Aboard

We landed safe with floral greetings at the airport during sunny afternoon. We checked in the stipulated time and had our lunch. We had some little rest and I collected little information about neighborhood areas from the hotel lobby where we can spend good times our late afternoon till dinner time on our own since that day we had nothing to do much. Honestly speaking, our evening time was so superb because we found out a section of Nusa Dua Beach area opposite to our hotel. In one word, we could spend all day long here, this was so beautiful a place.

After spending an hour in the beach, we roamed nearby places for little shopping till we ended up our first night dinner at "Queens of India" which is a recommended restaurant in Nusa Dua area for my respected readers and members.

Day 2: 11 July – Self discovery, Exotic water sports and other activity

Morning discovery "Water Blow"

Morning discovery "Water Blow"

Likewise my other travel destination, I explored a place called "Water Blow" which was great discovery out of my whole trip. I cycled about 4km to discover the exact place by asking people that took me about 30 minutes. It was awesome feeling when I reached the point.

As per the cautionary board, it was written: don’t swim, dangerous shore break, high surf, sudden drop off, slippery rock, sharp coral, strong current. It has the entire offer to risk your existence as there’s no guard on duty.

Full-on breakfast was the key to preserve your stomach happy due to tiresome first half in the sea water sports activity. As per pre-paid itinerary, our first activity began with sea water sports at Tanjung Benoa. We enjoyed Parasailing, Banana Boat riding and turtle island visit by glass bottom speed boat that had an adrenaline rush for 1 and an half hour.

Thank god, our tourist guide was English spoken and we could make him understand whatever we tried to say. As we wanted, he took us to a good local restaurant for Balinese lunch and we savored it with great pleasure.

Now time to buy souvenir for near and dear ones before we go Uluwatu Temples. We managed to buy small gift items for family, friends and colleagues within the budget. I feel good when I give something to everyone as a token gift after coming from a new location.

Uluwatu Temple or Pura Luhur Uluwatu, a must see place, believed to be Bali's spiritual pillars, is renowned for its magnificent location, perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 meters above sea level. This temple also shares the splendid sunset backdrops. Pura Luhur Uluwatu is definitely one of the top places on the island to go for sunset delights, with wide-open view of beautiful Indian Ocean.

In the last leg of Day 2’s journey ended with a romantic BBQ seafood family dinner at Jimbaran beach. I would highly recommend a trip to Jimbaran especially to sit back and relax after the sunset. The beach is lined with many restaurants and has a lovely atmosphere in the evening. Even if you don’t want to eat here it’s worth a visit just to enjoy the beach, cool breeze and watch the aero plane touching down the runway from the sea beach. A person could never ask for more happiness than this.

Day 03 : July 12 – A day to remember trip to Kintamani Volcano

Love in Kintamani

Love in Kintamani

Kintamani is one of the most scenic and interesting areas of Bali. A massive volcano was created 30,000 years ago which has 3 kilometer wide caldera. Kintamani is a name of countryside located in the hill and the beautiful panorama surround it. We can see beautiful panorama from Kintamani to overview the active volcano of Batur Mount and wide Lake of Batur in a valley. It is situated in the plateau area with cool weather enfold it. We enjoyed our lunch in a hilly restaurant from where we experienced the active volcano for the first time in our life. This place is visited by many tourists every day.

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped in 3 famous art villages: Celuk; famous for its silver smiths, Kemenuh; the village of renowned woodcarvers and Ubud; home of Bali’s most famous paintings. We bought souvenir from each village for our home to décor.

Day 04 : July 13 – Goodbye to Bali

In the last day of early morning, I cycled for couple of hours to explore other parts of my hotel vicinity. Last but not least, I bought some Balinese foods – 250gm dry fish, 5 pcs red chili and 1 kilo orange from local market which I brought for my home. The whole trip was so magical that it was saddening to say goodbye to Bali.
